can you give a good mineral makeup other than Sheer cover and Bare Minerals. The drug store ones where I live?

I bought the bare minerals kit and it makes my face itch. It looked ok but the itching had to be the foundation. So I bought Sheer Cover and that didn’t even look like foundation really no matter how much I tried. Any ideas?

    I can suggest a brilliant range called – i.d bare minerals, here’s a bit about it –
Bare Escentuals started the mineral makeup revolution with the introduction of their 100% pure bareMinerals, which millions of women swear by. All foundation, cheek, and eye colors have been crushed to a silky, creamy powder form, but (here’s the big secret) they’re not actually powders. What they are is 100% pure bareMinerals that are free of preservatives, talc, oil, waxes, fragrance, and other harmful chemicals that can irritate skin and cause breakouts. They feel like a cream and buff on like silk, giving skin a natural luminosity without the look or feel of makeup. Women with sunspots, acne, rosacea, and excessively dry, oily, or sensitive complexions claim bareMinerals improves the overall health and appearance of their skin. To boot, the silky formulas also contain natural sunscreens that protect your skin—so much so that bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation actually has the Skin Cancer Foundation seal of recommendation. Now that’s what we call full coverage.
You can fin it in Sephora or try the internet.

I’ve tried Bare Minerals and had no success with it in the long run. I have tried many other mineral foundations since then and can say that so many provided better coverage without irritating my skin and they had better color selections. My personal favorite is Earthen Glow Minerals Cover Me foundation. I also like Bare Faced Minerals. There are many brands out there with less name recognition but with the added benefit of superior product performance and more affordable pricing.

I’d definitely look at Earthen Glow Minerals and Bare faced minerals for foundations. Email them for help if you can’t decide your foundation color.

The itching is caused from bismuth oxychloride, a mineral/metal that has been processed with tin and copper. I would highly suggest looking for brands that do not contain this ingredient as it is a well known irritant that can causing, itching rash, irritation and acne. The best bismuth free mineral makeup I have found is Faerie Organic Minerals. They have free sample kits too so you can try them out before you buy. Their website is http://www.faerieorganic.com

The itching is from the bismuth oxychloride ingredient in it. It’s in sheer cover and LOTS of other brands too! It will get worse in the heat.
I use LA Minerals and haven’t had any itching problem at all since I’ve been using it. No bismuth in it!
They have samples for like $2 and will ship your first order free if you use their coupon code.
I wear the Hollywood one, their concealer, their veil and the Lit Up bronzer mostly. Sometimes i wear the NoHoGlo when I want to look a lil more glowy. No itch in any of it! LOL

Hey…I follow them on twitter, and they said everyone who orders $15 or more will get a free LA Lips this week if you enter “tweet” and what flavor you want! Love free stuff ;) ~

The icthing probably wasn’t the foundation. It was probably the SPF 15 that they put in it. Some people are allergic to the sunscreen that is in makeup. But I recommend any of those at they grocery stores that don’t have SPF in them. But they won’t be as good as Bare Minerals. I would try using the Bare Minerals again. But I would buy the primer. The primer is this thin serum that you put on your skin and it creates a thin layer that makes your make up go on smoother, stay on longer, and look better. Plus it would probably make it not itch.

I used bare minerals for a long time and i liked it but then while trying to cut back on my expenses i found the minerals from loreal. It worked great for me and it even has more coverage (for half the price) than bare minerals which I need badly so i stucked to it.

As a professional makeup artist for over 20 years I highly recomend Bee Luscious Cosmetics liquid minerals foundation it is a very light liquid for easy and even application that drys powdery soft and light it is the most amazing mineral foundation I have found that does not contain bismuth and does not clog pores it is truly AMAZING!

L’Oreal and Maybelline minerals are as good as those expensive ones. Bismuth is the element that causes the itching. Review the product ingredients and make sure that Bismuth is not included-

For a drug store purchase, I like the physician’s formula mineral line and powder/foundation. Make sure you put a base underneath the mineral powder before you put it on for more coverage.

The itching is caused by Bismuth Oxychloride. It’s a bi-product of metal production, and most women are allergic to it.

Look for one free of talc, cornstarch, and especially bismuth. Chances are, you won’t find one at your local drugstore. You’ll have to look online if you want a good foundation. I love Everyday Minerals (www.everydayminerals.com), you can get a FREE sample kit (pay only shipping) which includes 3 foundations, a blush, and concealer. They have several different formulas so you can vary your coverage, and it’s very easy to find a match with EDM.

    Best of luck!
